The Educational Assistant – ASD County Class opportunity is a temporary, full-time position offering between $26.92 and $31.30 per hour. This contract involves 35 hours per week and provides an additional pro-rated stipend, as well as mandatory participation in a government pension plan. The assignment may end at any time as there is no guaranteed duration stated in the offer.
Candidates are required to have a relevant human services diploma or degree. Additionally, BMS training, excellent communication skills, and experience with Autism Spectrum Disorder are necessary for consideration. The job can be physically demanding, including tasks such as lifting, toileting, and supporting student mobility.

A significant part of the job is implementing behaviour management plans and data tracking student progress, requiring close attention to detail and empathy.
Tasks may include assistance with toileting, feeding, transferring, and encouraging mobility—tasks that require both physical stamina and patience.
PPE is provided and must be worn for both student and staff safety, and use of positive reinforcement techniques is emphasized throughout duties.
